Led by Lauro Ojeda, Navigation Solutions LLC is conducting a pilot study to evaluate the reliability of mobility assessments performed in real-world environments compared to clinical settings. Using wearable gait tracking devices, the project measures walking patterns during everyday activities, focusing on common tests like the Timed Up and Go and six-minute walk. By comparing at-home and in-person data, the team aims to identify how environmental factors influence gait performance. The long-term goal is to integrate real-world mobility metrics into electronic health records to improve assessment of function, fall risk, and overall health in older adults.
