This project develops and validates a wearable intelligent system using an IMU platform and smartphone application to monitor two biomarkers—Time of Pickup (ToP) and Vertical Foot Clearance (VFC). Transformer-based event detection on IMU signals identifies steps and pickup phases to compute the measures over daily activities, enabling portable, lower-burden assessment of functional decline and fall risk.
